GENERAL SUMMARY
Works with internal and external customers to analyze products and problems to determine requirements, changes, and/or corrective actions. Manages engineering projects from inception through completion, including follow-up with customers. Works from samples and verbal/written instructions, coordinating with product management, R&D, sales, and operations to provide high quality products.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Design and develop Hydraulic Pumps, Cylinders and Tools (10K+ PSI) for heavy lifting solutions.
- Provide technical assistance to other functions within Hydraulic Technologies or to customers/vendors as needed.
- Work closely with product management, sales, R&D, and operations to ensure timely delivery of quality product produced at the lowest possible cost. Responsible as part of a cross-functional team to ensure that customer expectations are being met.
- Ensure that product documentation is complete and accurate (prints, quotes, BOM's, calculations, test data, etc.) as defined by ISO procedures.
- Provide application expertise in the design/customization of product per customer requirements.
- Apply creativity to standard engineering practices in order to meet customer requirements and to develop new/innovative applications.
- Develop designs that comply with our quality standards, maximize manufacturability, reduce costs, and minimize field failure and product liability risks.
- Evaluate ECN's for cost effectiveness and fitness for use.
- Model and promote the Hydraulic Technology Values to create an environment that mobilizes empowered people to achieve business goals.

What do you need?
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent/ associate degree with experience.
- Must have at least 3 years' experience in product/design engineering, preferably in the fluid power/hydraulic industry.
- Experience with systems administration with PDM system (PDM admin).
- Must have experience utilizing Auto-CAD Inventor and/or SolidWorks, project management, and stress analysis. PDM experience a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The working conditions described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the principal duties and responsibilities of the job. The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area which, under certain conditions, requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. The temperature of the primary work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. Industrial lighting provided.
