GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for developing and achieving sales and operations objectives, profitability objectives, and managing the B2C sales channels while optimizing customer service and implementing programs, policies, and procedures necessary to generate continuous growth. This position is also responsible for all internal operational activities including production operations, engineering, facilities, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics. Will monitor, support, and communicate inventory levels and requirements needed to support the product forecast and customer orders. This role is directly responsible for the facilities in Pasadena, TX, Corpus Christi, TX, Gonzales, LA and others as added.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Drive our organization towards exceeding sales and profit targets worldwide.
- Monitor and manage the sales and customer service function to ensure customer satisfaction and
timely delivery of our product. - Develop and align the field sales force to meet the changing needs of the American HT Services
Business in USA markets. Reallocate resources as necessary to meet market requirements and
opportunities. - Identify target/key markets and customers and ensure that markets receive adequate sales
coverage. - Actively manage and develop the distribution channel. Bring products to market through class ‘A'
distributors and retire distributors that underperform or do not fit our business model or needs.
Rationalize the distributor base on an ongoing basis. - Implement and utilize sales reporting and information management tools to provide accurate and
timely feedback and use this information to take preemptive action within the authority of the
position or make recommendations to senior management. - Work closely with the leadership team to prepare and execute the Annual Operating Plan and
growth plan. - Achieve a thorough knowledge of our products, markets, and competitors. Utilize this knowledge
to identify product and market opportunities to build revenue and profits. - Develop and implement sales strategies and tactics to support Hydraulic Technologies' financial
objectives. Synchronize and coordinate efforts with key peers. - Maintain close contact with customers to maintain excellent customer relations and develop a
first-hand feel for the business. Leverage these relationships to stay ahead of the market. - Keep abreast of competitor's activities (pricing policies, promotions, expansion, etc.), the
business climate, and economic events to take preemptive action to increase market share,
revenue, and/or profitability. - Create an organizational environment that promotes employee participation, accountability,
teamwork, and the philosophy of continuous improvement in order to improve efficiency and
productivity. - Select, train, motivate, direct, and develop staff (including the outside sales force) to ensure
effective operations, personal development, and succession planning. - Work closely with key peers to facilitate improvement to, and continuity of, operations.
- Model and promote the HT Values to create an environment that mobilizes empowered people to
achieve business objectives. - Frequent travel, including international, to customers and other Hydraulic Technologies locations.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure that purchased material plans support market/customer
(forecast and actual) requirements. - Responsible for all of the service production operations.
- Responsible for engineering and for overall maintenance of the facilities for service
- Work with Information Services to evaluate information displayed in the manufacturing database
to ensure that the system is responding to input properly and supplying accurate information for
planning and scheduling purposes. Utilize other tools as appropriate (ie: forecasting tools, etc.). - With departmental staff, develop goals, objectives, training programs, material management
system enhancements, and measurements that support the Business Unit and Division strategic
direction, annual operating plans, and budget requirements. - Provide support for evaluation of inventory information, correct deficiencies, identify data
requirements, and work with product management to assist them in developing/achieving
acceptable inventory goals that are consistent with the Business Unit and Division goals and
objectives. - Assist sales and product management in determining our capacity to meet special demands and
suggest alternatives that will best meet delivery and availability requirements. - Develop and compile information used in determining long range capacity requirements/inventory
levels for operation planning in support of sales dollar forecast and inventory strategy. - Work proactively with product management to determine short and medium range product
requirements to ensure that priorities are established to meet customer requirements. - Manage warehousing functions to ensure inventory accuracy, neatness, and rapid processing of
customer orders. - Manage logistics function to ensure the lowest possible cost, import/export compliance, and
rapid/accurate delivery of product to the customer. - Drive continuous improvement activities in all facets of the operation to reduce costs and improve
operational efficiencies. - Select, train, motivate, direct, and develop staff to ensure effective operations, personnel
development, and succession planning. Actively manage employee performance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 10 years of field sales experience selling engineered products through industrial
distribution and to OEM's globally via direct/indirect sales force. - At least 5 years' experience managing and directing professional sales and operations groups.
- Direct experience with hydraulic medium and high force tools and equipment is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with pricing, incentive plan design, channel development/management,
team development and upgrading is essential. - Must have a strong track record in the petrochemical service business.
- Must present a polished and professional appearance and be able to communicate effectively at
all levels both internally (key peers, marketing and sales personnel, operations, and group
management) as well as externally (customers, end users, and governing authorities).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The working conditions described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the principal duties and responsibilities of the job. The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area which, under certain conditions, requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. The temperature of the primary work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. Industrial lighting provided.
