GENERAL SUMMARY
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Hydraulics and hydraulic Components Design Engineer to join our team. The role involves designing, developing, and improving hydraulic systems, components, and handling ECNs and ECRs for power equipment and tools. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, reliable, and costeffective solutions that meet project target and customer requirements. Strong knowledge of hydraulic products, proficiency in CAD tools (especially SolidWorks 2D/3D), SAP, SolidWorks PDM, and familiarity with industry standards (ISO/EN/ASME/ASTM) are required.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) in compliance with company procedures and documentation standards.
- Design and develop new hydraulic systems and components or improve existing designs using core engineering principles for industrial power equipment and tools.
- Lead design projects from concept through to production, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables.
- Lead design reviews, DFMEA/PFMEA processes, and root cause analysis for field issues.
- Create and revise 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks.
- Ensure all designs meet the required functionality, performance, reliability, and safety standards.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, hydraulic schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and material/part number creation.
- Maintain accurate design records and version control using SolidWorks PDM.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with project management, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to meet project timelines and goals.
- Perform tolerance analysis and ensure proper fit and function of components within the system architecture.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in all designs.
- Use SAP for managing material masters, BOMs, engineering changes, and productionrelated data.
- Support the engineering change management process, ensuring seamless integration of changes into production.
- Stay current with hydraulic technology trends, new components, and best practices.
- Knowledge of testing, simulation, analysis, and validation of hydraulic systems is a plus.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in hydraulic systems and providing support to field/service teams is an added advantage.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in designing industrial hydraulic systems and components.
- Understanding of engineering standards (ISO, EN, ASME, ASTM) and compliance requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
